A Warm & Collaborative Approach to Therapy
The Work We Do Together
There is no issue too big or too small for counseling. Therapy is not only for moments of crisis or overwhelming distress—although it can certainly help with that too. Clients seek online therapy for all sorts of reasons: anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, self-discovery, and personal growth. Some clients know exactly what they need to work on; others only know that something feels off.
At its core, counseling is an empowering process of self-discovery. It is an opportunity to explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, experiences, values, and patterns, and to better understand how those pieces influence your life. Together, we recognize and build upon your strengths, develop greater self-awareness, and cultivate the confidence and skills needed to create meaningful change.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy—sometimes the first step is simply becoming curious about yourself and being open to the possibility of change.
What’s Counseling Like with Katy?
I believe therapy works best when there is a genuine connection and sense of trust. My style is warm, friendly, down-to-earth, and conversational, creating a space where you can let your guard down while also benefiting from professional guidance, insight, and support. I strive to build a relationship that feels collaborative, supportive, and authentic.
I don’t have all the answers—that’s not the point of counseling. I’m a counselor because I’m curious. I enjoy exploring, making connections, asking thoughtful questions, uncovering new perspectives, and identifying patterns. There is something incredibly powerful about those moments when things suddenly click and you begin to understand yourself, your experiences, or the challenges you face in a new—and often lighter—way.
I’m also passionate about challenging the stereotype that therapy is heavy, scary, and serious. While we may explore difficult experiences, emotions, and challenges, therapy can also be full of growth, laughter, insight, and empowerment. How many people can truly say they have felt seen, heard, and understood without judgment? My therapy space is a safe one—where you can feel accepted for who you are and where we can work together to navigate whatever challenges, questions, or obstacles may be standing in your way.
